Dr Ann Lavan is Lecturer Emerita, University College Dublin (UCD). She is a former  Associate Dean UCD College of Human Sciences, Director of UCD Social Science Research Centre and Senior Lecturer in the UCD School of Social Work, Social Policy and Social Justice. She has published on community social services, information technology in social services, history of social work in Ireland, social work records, teaching research to social work students and human flourishing.She was a founding member of the European Association of Schools of Social Work. She was an elected member of the Board of The International Association of Schools of Social Work and served as Book Review Editor of the Journal International Social  Work. Ann was formerly Secretary and is currently Vice-President of the Board of husITa (www.husITa.org). She is a member of Women in Film and TV (Ireland) and active on Twitter @AnnLavan.

Dr Gloria Kirwan is a Lecturer in Social Work at Maynooth University where she is Director of the MSocSc (Social Work). Her research covers a number of subject areas including the interface between new technologies and social work. She is currently the Editor of the journal Groupwork (Whiting & Birch), and she is a member of the editorial committee of the Journal of Social Work Practice (Taylor & Francis).  Gloria is a member of a number of practice and research advisory committees of organisations tackling issues such as homelessness, mental distress and human trafficking. She was a member of the Local Organising Committee for SWSD2018 and she is currently a Member of the Board of husITa.
